Tiffany Palmer, our full time groomer, moved to Nashville in 2006 from Birmingham, Alabama.
She began working with animals at the age of 14, volunteering at animal shelters. She then worked at a pet shop, where she aided the on-call veterinarian. This is when she became interested in becoming a veterinarian herself. Beginning in 2000, she worked at a vet clinic as a kennel technician. As Tiffany is also an artist, she found that the medical aspects of working with animals left little room for artistic expression. She began working with the clinic's four groomers, who helped her learn all the aspects of proper grooming techniques. She has since been a professional groomer for 11 years, and has had experience grooming show dogs as well as pets.
In 2008, 2009, and 2010, she was awarded "Best Groomer in Nashville" by both Nashville Scene and Nashville Paws magazines. She has attended the Atlanta Pet Conference in 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2008, where she learned new and current grooming techniques as they evolved over the years. She also has had experience with animal psychology and basic obedience training.
Tiffany will groom both dogs and cats of any breed, with the exception of Standard (large breed) Poodles, as their physique causes stress to a previous injury. She specializes in terrier breeds, as she enjoys their unique personality traits.
Tiffany will cut your pet's coat to compliment their hair type and body shape, and bathe them with medicated or regular shampoo. You may also provide your own shampoo if you wish. She will groom any pure-bred or mixed-breed dog to either standard professional variety cuts or to your specifications. You may provide a picture for reference as well. Nail trims are included with each groom, and ear cleaning and anal gland expressions are also provided upon request. Please see the "pricing" tab to the left for basic grooming fees.
Grooming services are available Monday-Saturday. Please call ahead to schedule your pet's grooming appointment. Our front staff will give you an estimate based on the information you provide, though this may change according to the condition of your pet's hair and skin. For a more accurate estimation, you may request a consultation with our groomer over the phone, or preferably in person with your pet present to ensure he or she is groomed according to your wishes.
When you call to schedule, please inform our front staff if your animal is aggressive, as a "handling fee" may be charged to cover any potential risks to our groomer and staff. Some pets may require mild sedation to be groomed, in which case a doctor will consult with you and the groomer and administer sedation prior to grooming.
In warmer seasons, scheduling further in advance is recommended as many owners give their pets a "summer cut" for their comfort.
Though our clinic does not treat exotics, Tiffany will gladly groom guinea pigs and ferrets, and will aid with reptile skin moisturizing and shedding. If your taste tends towards the more "fashion-forward" or "mod", area-color fur dying is available as well as creative cuts, such as Mohawks or simple pattern shaves.
